Why your support matters
More than a drink. A different everyday life.
When a water source is far away or unsafe, ordinary tasks become difficult. Families need clean water for drinking, cooking and washing, but collecting it can take valuable time every day.
Our water projects include community wells, hand pumps, solar-powered systems, water delivery and filtration. Different communities need different solutions, so your gift helps support the project you choose.

The difference clean water makes
One essential. So many possibilities.
Better health and hygiene
Access to safer water helps families reduce their exposure to waterborne illness.
Time for learning
When water is easier to collect, children can spend less time fetching it and more time at school.
Stronger communities
Reliable water infrastructure can support daily routines, livelihoods and community resilience.
Different places, different needs
Ways we bring water.
From a family well to a community filtration system, each option meets a different kind of need.
Community & family wells
Groundwater access for households and local communities.
Solar-powered systems
Solar energy helps pump water where regular power is difficult to access.
Hand pumps & boreholes
Practical ways to reach water sources suited to local conditions.
Water tankers
Water delivery for communities that need immediate support.
Filtration systems
Help turn water from suitable sources into safer drinking water.
A gift that keeps giving
Water can be Sadaqah Jariyah.
Long-lasting water facilities can continue benefiting people long after construction. You can also support an immediate need through a water tanker or make a contribution towards a larger project.
Choose Sadaqah on the donation page, or select Zakat where that particular project is marked as eligible.
How much does a water well cost?
Prices vary by country and the type of water system. Select a country above to see the available projects and their prices.
Can I donate towards a well without paying for the whole project?
Yes. Choose a water project, then select a contribution on our donation page. Your contribution supports that programme, rather than reserving a complete well.
Can I give on behalf of someone?
Yes. The donation form lets you add an optional name or dedication when choosing your gift.
Can I pay monthly or spread the cost?
Our donation form shows the payment options available for your selected project, including monthly or fixed-term options when supported.
Can I give Zakat to a water project?
Zakat is available only for projects confirmed as eligible by Muslims In Need. Any available Zakat option is shown on the project and donation form. You can support other water projects with Sadaqah.
Can I pay by bank transfer or add Gift Aid?
Yes. Choose bank transfer on the donation page to receive instructions and a project reference. Eligible UK taxpayers can complete Gift Aid at online checkout, or use our Gift Aid declaration after a bank transfer.
