About Afghanistan
Afghanistan faces severe economic collapse following the political transition, with banking sanctions, frozen assets, and international isolation devastating an already fragile economy. Over 28 million people — two-thirds of the population — need humanitarian assistance, making it one of the world's largest humanitarian crises. Restrictions on women's education and employment have removed critical household income and denied girls access to schooling beyond primary level. The healthcare system has largely collapsed, with many facilities closed or operating without essential supplies. Harsh winters claim lives among displaced families living in tents and makeshift shelters without heating. Drought conditions have destroyed agricultural livelihoods in rural areas, while urban poverty has surged as the economy contracts. Despite the complex operating environment, our established Afghan partner organisations navigate current constraints to deliver food packs, emergency supplies, and humanitarian assistance to the most vulnerable families.
Delivery Method: We work with established Afghan organizations who navigate the complex operating environment.
Why This Matters
Zakat is one of the Five Pillars of Islam and is obligatory for every Muslim whose wealth exceeds the Nisab threshold. Our Zakat Distribution project ensures your Zakat reaches verified eligible recipients through direct cash distribution.
We work with local scholars and community leaders to carefully identify individuals who fall into the Quranic categories of Zakat eligibility. Cash is distributed directly — not through intermediaries — ensuring 100% reaches the intended recipients.
How We Distribute Zakat
- Verification — Local scholars identify eligible recipients
- Documentation — Each recipient is registered and verified
- Distribution — Cash delivered Hand2Hand with photo proof
- Reporting — Donors receive confirmation of distribution
Who Receives Zakat?
The Quran specifies eight categories: the poor, the needy, Zakat administrators, those whose hearts are to be reconciled, slaves, debtors, in the cause of Allah, and wayfarers.
My family had not eaten properly for days. This food pack was an answer to our prayers.
