The Sacred Month
Dhul Hijjah is the twelfth and final month of the Islamic (Hijri) calendar. It is one of the four sacred months mentioned in the Quran (Surah At-Tawbah, 9:36), during which fighting and transgression are especially prohibited.
The First 10 Days
The first ten days of Dhul Hijjah are considered the most blessed days of the entire year. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.” (Bukhari). Allah swears by these nights in Surah al-Fajr (89:1-2).
